Summary:
Five Mile Rock Beach is a very popular rockhounding beach along the North Shore of Minnesota. It is North of Grand Marais, MN which is a beautiful small town that is the 2nd to last stop before Canada. Even with the traffic, I’ve always seen others out here but have had a nice time.
This is a great one to explore if you enjoy long walks without having to go over terrain like fallen trees or small creeks.
You will have to access from the shoulder of the road here. Just be sure your vehicle is parked far enough away from the road.

3 Helpful Tools
Chest Waders
Chest waders are great to stay dry if you want to get in the lake.
Agate Scoop
An agate scoop is helpful to pick things up faster and farther away from you.
Classifier
A classifier is fun to sit with if you’re a fan of small agates and stones. One with a larger, 1-inch mesh would be what I’d pick.
A fallen log getting some waves.
Porphyry - the red "sticks" are feldspar.
A real tiny red Lake Superior Agate.
The place is named very literally - it's really 5 miles long.
